Pirate Farms is a minority-owned, New York-based umbrella brand with a rich and transformative journey spanning decades, founded by our visionary leader in the Heart of Long Island and operating in New York, Rhode Island, and California. We are a brand deeply rooted in the principles of integrity, compassion, and justice. Our journey has been marked by challenges and triumphs, shaping our commitment to making a positive impact in the cannabis industry.

In the early years, our founder had a transformative journey driven by a passion for medical cannabis. Starting from a troubled past, which involved legal troubles and incarceration, our founder made a life-altering decision to change course and dedicate himself to serving the medical community through cannabis.

Pirate Farms emerged as a brand with a renewed purpose - to provide high-quality cannabis products for medical patients. However, this commitment was met with significant obstacles. Undeterred, we expanded our medical operations to California, Rhode Island, where we encountered various challenges related to navigating complex legal landscapes.

Recognizing the potential of cannabis as a safer alternative to opioids and witnessing the positive impact it had on himself as patient, Pirate Farms doubled down on its mission to provide access to medical cannabis for those in need. This shift in perspective solidified our commitment to the medical community and advocacy for cannabis as a means of improving patients' lives. These experiences also highlighted the urgent need for change and the importance of advocating for the rights of patients and the legalization of cannabis.

In 2018, we took a stand in New York for medical patients by launching an online medical nursery under the name Pirate Farms Medical Marijuana. This initiative aimed to provide access to medical cannabis for patients in need, particularly those seeking alternatives to opioids and individuals with terminal illnesses.

During the same period, we also became vocal supporters of hemp legalization, advocating for parents not having to relocate their children out of state to receive CBD-based medicine. As a symbol of our dedication, we pledged to provide free hemp plants to all children in need across America.

Unfortunately, just two months after making this commitment, we experienced another devastating raid of Pirate Farms Nursery, resulting in the loss of all our genetics, equipment. It was a challenging time, and these setbacks tested our resilience, but our determination to make a lasting impact remained unwavering.

In the face of adversity, Pirate Farms emerged as activists, actively participating in listening sessions and advocating for the legalization of cannabis in 2018 in New York. 

In 2019 the Vice President of Pirate Farms was fired from a 20 year top sales position at Katsman’s Berry Corporation in the Hunts Point Produce Market for testing positive for cannabis. It was at this time, that he returned to the west coast to retouch on his cannabis roots with his family until returning to New York to help our Founder and President with an Equity Mentorship Program with the AUCCs on Long Island. 

In 2021, our founder received a Certificate of Good Conduct from the State and even launched a campaign to run for office within the Office of Cannabis Management (OCM). We recognized the significance of the OCM in shaping the future of the cannabis industry, and our commitment to responsible and ethical practices is what led us to actively engage with this regulatory body.

Despite the challenges we faced, our resilience and determination fueled our drive to make a lasting impact. We emerged from these experiences even stronger, with a deepened commitment to our mission. Today, Pirate Farms stands as a beacon of hope representing a network of legacy and industry connections built over decades. Our cultivation, cultivars, product development, and distribution operations have spanned across multiple states, allowing us to reach and serve a diverse range of patients with the highest quality cannabis products.
